In response to President Benigno S Aquino’s criticism regarding the shortfall in the teaching of history, the Department of Education (DepEd) will start monitoring the teaching of said subject. Said criticism was sparked by questions in the internet made by students asking why Apolinario Mabini is seated all throughout the film “Heneral Luna”. After garnering many positive reviews, “Heneral Luna” was officially entered as the country’s bet on the Best Foreign Language Film category of the 2016 Academy Awards or Oscars.
