(Eagle News) — The ten accused in the death of University of Sto. Tomas law student Horacio Castillo III were transferred to the Manila City Jail on Wednesday, May 23.
Clad in their orange T-shirts and what appeared to be bullet-proof vests, Arvin Balag, Mhin Wei Chan, Axel Munro Hipe, Danielle Hans Matthew Rodrigo, Oliver John Audrey Onofre, Joshua Joriel Macabali, Ralph Trangia, Robin Ramos, Jose Miguel Salamat, and Marcelino Bagtang were brought out of the National Bureau of Investigation detention facility, where they had been detained since their surrender on March 23, and taken to the jail in the afternoon.
The transfer of the Aegis Juris members was in compliance with an order issued by Judge Marivic Balisi-Umali of the Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 20.
Castillo died of injuries believed sustained from hazing rites conducted by the fraternity in September 2017.
