10 ASG, 4 gov’t troops killed in Sulu clash

(Eagle News)– Ten suspected Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) bandits and four Army soldiers were killed during a clash in Patikul, Sulu Friday morning, November 8.

In a statement, the Armed Forces Western Mindanao Command said troops of the Army’s 35th Infantry Battalion under Joint Task Force Sulu engaged about 150 Abu Sayyaf men under Radullan Sahiron at Sitio Dyundangan in Barangay Buhanginan around 10:20 a.m.

The clash lasted for 45 minutes.

Aside from four killed, the government side also suffered nine wounded.

On the other hand, the ASG suffered 10 fatalities, but only three bodies were recovered.

The Westmincom said that despite the casualties, government forces will continue to pursue the bandit group and rescue kidnap victims the terrorist group is still holding.
