(Eagle News) — Thirteen drug suspects were killed in police operations in Bulacan from Tuesday to Wednesday.
Senior Supt. Romeo Caramat Jr., Bulacan police director, said the operations were conducted from Tuesday midnight to Wednesday noon.
The operations, he said, included 57 buy-bust operations, and services of warrants of arrest and search warrants.
“Unfortunately, 13 of the suspects were killed when our officers fired in self-defense shortly after the suspects who were armed with concealed guns sensed they were being entrapped and started firing,” Caramat said in a statement.
He said the police seized 305 sachets containing suspected shabu, among others.
President Rodrigo Duterte has waged a war against drugs upon his assumption of office after the 2016 elections.
