14 killed, more than 30 injured in northwest China bus fire

Fourteen people were killed and more than 30 injured in a bus fire on Tuesday morning in northwest China’s Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, local authorities said.

The accident happened at around 07:00, when Bus No. 301 caught fire near a furniture mall in Helan County, Yinchuan City. The injured have been sent to hospital for treatment.

The fire was soon extinguished.

Local police rushed to the scene, and were investigating the cause of the incident. (CCTV/Reuters)
