(Eagle News) — The Supreme Court is holding its second round of oral arguments on detained Senator Leila de Lima’s petitions on Tuesday.
De Lima’s camp filed the petitions against Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court Branch 204 Judge Juanita Guerrero, who issued a warrant of arrest against her in February.
The warrant stems from a case filed against the senator in connection with her alleged involvement in illegal drug trading in the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa.
Former Solicitor General Florin Hilbay is representing De Lima in the oral arguments.
Solicitor General Jose Calida, for his part, is representing the respondents in the petition, namely Guerrero, the Philippine National Police Chief Director General Ronald Bato dela Rosa, PNP Custodial Unit’s Supt. Arnel Jamandron Apud, and Supt. Philip Gil Philipps.
