2 MILF members killed in latest encounter with IS-inspired militants in Mindanao

(Eagle News) — Two members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) were killed on Sunday, September 17, in a clash with Islamic State-inspired group Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) in Barangay Andavit and Barangay Datu Salibo, Mindanao.

According to the intelligence report from the Philippine National Police-Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PP-ARMM), the BIFF members who clashed with the MILF belonged to the Commander Abu Torayfe group.

The MILF fatalities on Monday, September 18, were identified as Mustapha Musa, 24, and Muhammad Kadil, 40, who both belonged to the MILF’s 105th Base Command under Imam Zacaria Guma.

Meanwhile, two other members of the MILF were hurt during the clash.

Those who were injured were identified as Surani Abelusa, 50 and Taha Sabpa, 30.
