(Eagle News)– Two more Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) members were killed on Tuesday (September 6) after a firefight with government troops in Patikul, Sulu.
30 ASG bandits were engaged by troops from 35th Infantry Battalion and 21st Infantry Battalion.
The bandits were retreating away from an earlier firefight with the 45th Infantry Battalion when they were cornered by the other two.
The clash lasted for half an hour.
According to witnesses, two dead ASG rebels were found being carried by their companions.
The government troops did not suffer any casualties.
All in all, a total of 32 ASG members have now been killed since the intensified operations against the bandit group was launched by President Rodrigo Duterte.
