(Eagle News) — One to two tropical cyclones are expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility this month of May.
Analiza Solis, Officer-in-Charge of Climate Monitoring and Prediction Section of Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) explained that according to the data of the weather bureau, for the past months of May at least one to two tropical cyclones had been recorded to enter the Philippines.
Although hotter temperatures will be experienced, the country will also often experience rain showers, Solis said.
These rain showers will be felt in the Western section of Luzon.
PAGASA also said that there is little possibility of the country experiencing La Niña this year.
La Niña is a weather phenomenon characterized by unusually cold ocean temperature in the Equatorial Pacific which causes increased numbers of tropical storms in the Pacific Ocean.
