(Eagle News)–A 3.7-magnitude earthquake struck off Batanes early Saturday, Aug. 22.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 4:17 a.m., had its epicenter 65 kilometers southeast of Sabtang.
It had a depth of one kilometer.
PHIVOLCS said the quake was of tectonic origin.
No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
