4.0-magnitude quake hits Surigao del Norte

(Eagle News)–A 4.0-magnitude earthquake struck off Surigao del Norte on Monday, Oct. 5.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 4:35 p.m., had its epicenter 46 kilometers northeast of Burgos.

It had a depth of 21 kilometers and was tectonic in origin.

No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.
