4.2-magnitude quake hits Albay

(Eagle News)–A 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck Albay on Saturday, Sept. 4.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit at 5:23 a.m.

It had its epicenter eight kilometers southeast of Rapu Rapu.

The depth of focus was 17 kilometers.

Ths following intensities and instrumental intensities were reported:

Intensities:

Intensity IV – Rapu-rapu, Albay; Sorsogon City, Sorsogon
Intensity III – Legazpi City, Albay
Intensity II – Irosin, Sorsogon; Santo Domingo, Albay
Intensity I – Daraga, Albay

Instrumental Intensities:
Intensity IV – Sorsogon City, Sorsogon
Intensity III- Legazpi City, Albay
Intensity I – Pili, Camarines Sur

No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.
