(Eagle News)—A 4.4-magnitude earthquake struck Ilocos Norte on Friday, April 26.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit 7 kilometers southwest of San Nicolas at 3 a.m.
The earthquake, which was of tectonic origin, has a depth of focus of 10 kilometers.
The following intensities were reported:
Intensity IV – San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte
Intensity III – Sarrat, Ilocos Norte
The following instrumental intensities were also reported:
Intensity IV – Sinait, Ilocos Sur
Intensity III – Pasuquin, and Laoag City, Ilocos Norte
Intensity II – Vigan City, Ilocos Sur
No damage to property nor aftershocks were expected.
