(Eagle News) — A 4.7-magnitude earthquake struck Ilocos Norte Province on Tuesday afternoon, February 6.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the latest quake hit 10 kilometers northeast of the municipality of Bacarra at 12:59 p.m.
The quake, of tectonic origin, had a depth of 50 kilometers.
The quake was also felt at intensity 4 in the Municipality of Pasuquin, and at intensity 3 in Laoag City, Paoay, Carasi, Batac and Banna in Ilocos Norte, and in Vigan City and Sinait Town in Ilocos Sur, PHIVOLCS said.
It was felt at intensity 2 in Sarrat in Ilocos Norte, and Santa in Ilocos Sur, and Aparri in Cagayan.
No aftershocks were expected, Phivolcs said.
