(Eagle News)–A 5.0-magnitude earthquake struck off Surigao del Sur early Monday, April 1.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit at 5:16 a.m.
The epicenter was 31 kilometers northeast of Lingig.
The depth of focus was 10 kilometers.
The following intensities and instrumental intensities were reported:
Intensities:
Intensity V – Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur
Intensity IV – City of Bislig, Surigao del Sur
Instrumental Intensities:
Intensity III – City of Bislig, Surigao del Sur
Intensity I – City of Tandag, Surigao del Sur
Damage to property is expected.
Aftershocks, however, are not, according to PHIVOLCS.
