(Eagle News)–A 5.0-magnitude earthquake struck Surigao del Sur on Saturday, Feb. 9, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.
According to Phivolcs, the quake hit 173 kilometers northeast of Hinatuan at 5:47 a.m.
It had a 47-kilometer depth of focus and was tectonic of origin.
No damage was expected.
