(Eagle News)–A 5.1-magnitude earthquake struck off Surigao del Sur on Thursday, Sept. 24.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 6:19 a.m., was an aftershock of the 5.7-magnitude earthquake that hit Bayabas on Sept. 21.
The 5.1-magnitude quake had its epicenter 99 kilometers northeast of Bayabas.
It had a depth of 24 kilometers.
No damage to property was expected, but aftershocks were.
