(Eagle News)–A 5.2-magnitude earthquake hit Eastern Samar on Sunday, April 7.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake struck 43 kilometers northeast of Maydolong at 5:58 a.m.
The depth of focus of the earthquake, which was of tectonic origin, was 10 kilometers.
The following intensities were reported:
Intensity IV- Maydolong & Balangkayan, Eastern Samar
Intensity III – Tacloban City, Palo, MacArthur, Babatngon, Leyte; San Julian, Eastern
Samar; Mapanas, Palapag, Gamay and Laoang, Northern Samar
Intensity II- Catarman, Northern Samar
No damage to property was reported but aftershocks were expected.
