(Eagle News)–A magnitude-5.5 quake hit Davao Occidental on Saturday, May 12, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said.
According to PHIVOLCS, the quake struck 15 kilometers east of Malita at 4:56 a.m.
The quake—tectonic in origin— had a depth of focus of 100 kilometers.
An instrumental intensity III was felt in Alabel, Sarangani and in General Santos City.
According to PHIVOLCS, no damage nor aftershocks were expected.
