(Eagle News)—A 5.6-magnitude earthquake struck Sarangani on Saturday, March 16.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 10 kilometers northeast of Alabel at 7:07 a.m.
It had a depth of focus of 96 kilometers.
The following intensities were reported:
Intensity V – Koronadal City; Malungon, Sarangani
Intensity IV – Alabel, Malapatan & Kiamba Sarangani; General Santos City and Tupi, South Cotabato
Intensity III – Davao City; Glan, Sarangani;Tacurong City, Sultan Kudarat
Intensity II – Kidapawan City; Makilala & Magpet, North Cotabato
Intensity I – Cagayan De Oro City
No damage was reported but aftershocks were expected.
