QUEZON CITY, Philippines (Eagle News) — Six more justices of the Supreme Court are willing to testify against Chief Justice Ma. Lourdes Sereno in the hearings being conducted in the House of Representatives on the impeachment complaint against Sereno.
This was according to House Justice Committee Chairman Reynaldo Umali who noted that there could be a “leadership issue” in the Supreme Court since many there appeared not to be satisfied with Sereno’s leadership.
“When about eight at least are more or less not too satisfied with the leadership, then we have a leadership issue. The Supreme Court is divided,” he said.
The six other justices who are reportedly willing to testify against Sereno in the impeachment hearings in the Lower House are Senior Associate Justice Antonio Carpio, Associate Justices Lucas Bersamin, Samuel Martirez, Mariano Del Castillo, Andres Reyes and Senior Associate Justice Diosdado Peralta.
