Department of Social Welfare And Development (DSWD) Secretary Judy Taguiwalo opened the 7th High-Level Cross Regional Roundtable on Violence against Children at the Manila Hotel earlier today, June 6.
The meeting was focused on the theme, “Placing Children at the Heart of the Sustainable Development Agenda: Accelerating Progress in Children’s Protection from Violence.”
It aims to eradicate all forms of abuse and violence against children such as bullying, sexual assault and online violence, among others.
The meeting will run until June 8, with keynote speeches from Association of the Southeast Asian Nations Deputy Secretary General for Asean Socio-Cultural Community Mr. Vongthep Arthakaivalvatee, Korean Ambassador to the Philippines Jae-Shin Kim, and United Nations Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Violence against Children Marta Santos Pais.
