Soldiers to attend lectures on state of national emergency guidelines

(Eagle News)– Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff General Ricardo Visaya ordered a series of lectures for soldiers following President Rodrigo Duterte’s declaration of state of national emergency on account of lawless violence.

The conduct on Troops Information and Education (TIE) would serve as guidelines, instructing soldiers on how to perform tasks related to the declaration such as the conduct on checkpoints, foot or mobile patrols, and enforcement of curfews.

Under Proclamation No. 55, the AFP and Philippine National Police (PNP) would undertake operations and measures that will suppress lawless violence in Mindanao and prevent it from spreading all over the country.

President Rodrigo Duterte signed the proclamation following the Roxas night market blast in Davao City which killed 14 and injured 68 others.
