(Eagle News)– To “save the next generation,” President Rodrigo Duterte on Friday (September 30) said he wants the death of the country’s criminals, citing what Adolf Hitler did to the Jews during World War II.
“Hitler massacred three million Jews. Now, there are three million drug addicts… I’d be happy to slaughter them,” Duterte said.
“At least if Germany had Hitler, the Philippines would have… You know my victims, I would like to be, all criminals, to finish the problem of my country and save the next generation from perdition,” the Chief Executive added.
In the same statement, Duterte again lashed at the United States and European Union for their criticisms on the President’s all-out war against illegal drugs that resulted in the death of almost 3,000 people. This number, however, includes even those killed by vigilantes and others outside of the law.
“Kayong US, EU, you can call me anything but I was never into or I am never into hypocrisy like you,” he said, citing the countries banning the entry of Syrian refugees.
“You close your doors. It’s winter time. There are migrants escaping from the Middle East. You allow them to rot and you’re worried about the deaths of about one thousand, or two thousand, or three thousand?” Duterte added.
Almost 3,000 people involved in drugs have been killed since Duterte assumed the presidency.
