PHL envoy to UN apologizes to Jews for Twitter post

(Eagle News)– In a Facebook post, Philippine Ambassador to the United Nations Teddy Boy Locsin on Friday (October 7) expressed his apologies to the Jewish community for his recent remarks.

“I apologize to the Jews, and to the memory of those who died in the Holocaust, for any offense I gave them, but only to them,” Locsin said.
“I apologize for my casual references to the Holocaust, which was the greatest evil ever visited on mankind,” he added.
Locsin drew the ire of netizens after posting to Twitter saying: “The drug menace is so big it needs a Final Solution like the Nazis adopted. That I believe. No rehab.”
Earlier, President Rodrigo Duterte also apologized to the Jewish community following his statement saying he was willing to do a Holocaust to the criminals, just like what Adolf Hitler did to the Jews.
“I would like to make it here and now that there was never an intention on my part to derogate the memory of the six million Jews murdered by the Germans… I apologize profoundly and deeply to the Jewish [community],” the President said.
