CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City (Eagle News)–Government authorities presented three members of the Maute Group who are allegedly behind the Davao City bombing last month.

In a press conference on Friday afternoon, Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana detailed the involvement of the three suspects whom he labeled as terrorists.

“The three terrorists have direct participation on the September 2 Davao bombing,” said Lorenzana.

The suspects were identified as Musali Mustapha, Wendel Apostol Facturan, and TJ Tagadaya Macabalang.

“The Davao bombing case is closed, “Lorenzana told reporters in the press briefing in Camp Aguinaldo.

The defense chief said the Davao blast was intended to divert and disrupt military operations against the Abu Sayyaf Group.

The suspects were nabbed at a checkpoint on Tuesday, October 4, and were found with improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

During the media briefing, Lorenzana showed a video footage of the bombing, which was taken from the suspects.

At least 15 people were killed while 70 others were injured during the bombing of the  Roxas Night Market last September 2.

The incident prompted President Rodrigo Duterte to declare that the country is under a state of lawlessness.

The Davao City government has offered a P3-million reward for information that may lead to the arrest of the perpetrators. (AYP)
