China promises aid to the Philippines

QUEZON City, Philippines – China promised to set aside Php 6 million for the Official Development Assistance to the Philippines as well as another Php 3 million worth of loans for infrastructure projects in provinces outside of Metro Manila.

According to Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez, some of the projects that may receive funds from China include the railway line between Metro Manila and the Bicol region as well as the large irrigation project in the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).
