Duterte arrives at Changi Airport, set to talk with Singapore’s leaders today

(Eagle News)– President Rodrigo Duterte is set to meet with Singaporean President Tony Tan Keng Yam and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on Thursday (December 15).

A welcome ceremony for Duterte is scheduled at 5:30 p.m. at Istana, the official residence of the President of Singapore.

The three state leaders are expected to discuss political cooperation between the two countries, as well as trade relations.

The leaders will also talk about the situation of  180,000 Filipinos living in Singapore.

They may also discuss the illegal drug campaign of Singapore, known for its strict laws and execution of drug traffickers.

Singapore is Philippines’ fourth largest trading partner.

The President and his delegation arrived at Singapore’s Changi Airport on Wednesday night, December 14, after his two-day state visit in Cambodia.
