DOTr prioritizes placing speed limiters on public buses

QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — Congress questioned the alleged inaction of the Department of Transportation in implementing the “speed limiter” law which aims to place a device limiting public utility buses (PUBs) to their legally-mandated 80 kph speed limit.

According to Iloilo City Representative Jerry Treñas, two years have passed since the passage of the law but the DOTr has failed to issue its implementing rules and regulations regarding this.

The installation of the speed limiters in the PUBs aims to reduce the number of road accidents in the country.
