(Eagle News) — The Philippine National Police is set to resume its operations against individuals involved in drug operations.
PNP Chief Director General Ronald Dela Rosa said on Tuesday that the resumption of “Oplan Tokhang” would take place “soon.”
Dela Rosa made the pronouncement a day after President Rodrigo Duterte said he was open to the possibility of the resumption of the drug war.
“I would leave it to the PNP to decide. What do they need? What (do) they have to do to succeed?,” Duterte said when asked about whether the government would resume “Oplan Tokhang.”
For this, Duterte said it was Dela Rosa’s “job to look for young men in the PNP who are imbued with patriotic fervor to serve their country.”
“That’s whom he should get, and marshal against (the drug personalities)…because there is again a rise in drug activities by 20 percent,” Duterte said.
