QUEZON CITY, Philippines (Eagle News) – A magnitude-5.4 earthquake jolted Northern Samar on Monday, April 10, two days after the “earthquake swarm” in Batangas.
The quake was felt at 8:43 in the morning.
According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), the earthquake epicenter was 74 kilometers northeast of Northern Samar, and has a depth of 17 kilometers.
An intensity three undersea quake was also recorded in the area.
Intensity two was felt in Catarmar, Northern Samar; Cabid-an and Juban in Sorsogon; and in Panganiban, Catanduanes.
Intensity one was felt in Tacloban City.
A magnitude 3.7 quake was also recorded by Phivolcs at Sinait, Ilocos Sur at exactly 8:18 AM yesterday.
