QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — The number of tourists going to Boracay has already increased with the start of the long weekend.
According to officials of the Caticlan Airport, the number of tourists was still manageable at the start of the week, but increased dramatically with the coming of the long weekend.
The Philippine National Police has already deployed 188 police officers on the island and an additional 50 personnel from the regional office IV.
Security guards were also deployed 24/7 to ensure the safety and security of tourists.
Some 50,000 tourists are expected to visit the island.
Boracay Island is favorite destination of local and foreign tourists alike.
