MMDA to start transfer of buses from old Southwest Provincial Terminal to new one

(Eagle News) — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will start the initial transfer of provincial buses from the Southwest Interim Provincial Terminal (SWIPT) at Uniwide Coastal Mall to a new terminal in Pasay.

According to MMDA chairman Tim Orbos, around 300 provincial buses will be transferred to the new SWIPT site at HK Sun Plaza on Macapagal Boulevard in Pasay City on Friday, May 5.

Orbos said the new site was better than the old one.

He added the transfer could save the government an estimated P1.5 million in monthly rental fees.

“…There will be no terminal fee to be charged on both provincial and city buses, and ventilation and space are more adequate,” Orbos said.

He also said that the current terminal at Coastal mall will remain open until all the provincial buses that come from Cavite and Batangas are transferred to the new SWIPT area.
