Probe ASG killings of gov’t troops too, PAO chief tells CHR

(Eagle News)– Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) chief Persida Acosta on Tuesday (May 9) welcomed the decision of the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) to investigate the death of Saad Samad Kiram alias “Abu Saad,” one of the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) members who figured in a clash with government troops in Bohol province recently.

Acosta, however, also urged the rights body to probe the killing of soldiers, policemen, and other government agents by the bandit group.

Saad was killed by police when he tried to escape while being transported to the Bohol District Jail.
