QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) – The Department of Agriculture (DA) and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) will start building facilities in the Philippine Rise, previously known as Benham Rise, next year.
Senate Committee on Environment and Committee on Agriculture Chairperson Cynthia Villar said that the planned construction of facilities in the Philippine Rise can be included in the 2018 budget.
Based on studies conducted by DA and DENR, the experts concluded that there is a vast amount of natural resources in the Philippine Rise which is more than sufficient to supply all the food needs of the Philippines.
