The countries which have cut diplomatic ties with Qatar are Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Egypt, Yemen and the Maldives.

Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III said that they are ready to give whatever aid they can to the 50,000 OFWs in Qatar, stressing that Department of Labor and Employment’s offices are open 24 hours for them.

Meanwhile, the Department of Foreign Affairs advised all Filipinos in Qatar to remain calm but to always exercise prudence.

“The Philippine Embassy in Doha calls on all Filipinos in Qatar to remain calm and exercise prudence as we all closely monitor the situation,” Philippine Ambassador Alan Timbayan in a statement said.
