BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (Reuters) – Security was high at a Buenos Aires Arena on Wednesday (July 07) as thousands of young fans of Ariana Grande arrived for a concert for the superstar.
The added security measures in Argentina comes after an explosion in May at a Manchester concert for Grande killed 22 people and injured 50 more.
The incident was denounced by authorities as an act of terror.
At the Buenos Aires concert, barricades were set up so people could maintain their distance from the venue, as fans reported long delays outside amidst a security revision.
Other security measures included the banning of charges, backpacks, and other large items.
After the Manchester incident, Grande held a benefit concert in Manchester alongside Justin Bieber and Katy Perry to help victims of the attack.
Although some dates were canceled, Grande went back on the road shortly after for her Dangerous Woman tour.
The pop star will travel across Latin America throughout July.
