President Duterte to explain beheading of two abducted sailors to Vietnamese gov’t

QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — President Rodrigo Duterte said that he will have to explain to the Vietnamese government the beheading of two Vietnamese captives by the Abu Sayyaf Group, noting that the ASG still holds four more Vietnamese captives.

“Did you see the new victims they beheaded? The two Vietnamese that they abducted…They cut off their necks,” Duterte said in his remarks during the 64th anniversary celebration of Hagonoy town in Davao del Sur.

“We will explain this again to the Vietnamese…You want to be enslaved by these?” he added.

Two Vietnamese sailors who were held captive by the Abu Sayyaf Group for eight months were found beheaded on Wednesday, July 5 in Barangay Tumahubong, Sumisip, Basilan.

President Duterte promised that the military would not stop its offensive against the ASG.
