(Eagle News) — The government of India has donated P25 million to the Philippines to support recovery efforts in war-torn Marawi.

A statement issued by the Embassy of India said the donation was also in support of the Philippines’ fight against terrorism.

“Minister Swaraj had expressed solidarity with the people of the Philippines against terrorism and offered assistance to supplement the ongoing rehabilitation efforts,” the statement dated July 11 said.

The donation was coordinated by Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj to Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano through a telephone conversation on July 6.
