Caloocan cops face criminal raps over Kian’s death

(Eagle News) — The parents of  Kian delos Santos filed on Friday criminal charges against the policemen who took part in the anti-drug operation in Caloocan where the 17-year-old was killed.

Zaldy and Lorenza delos Santos filed the murder charges and charges for violation of the Anti-Torture Law against P01 Jerwin Cruz, P03 Arnel Oares, and  P01 Jeremias Pereda before the Department of Justice.

Also facing the charges are Chief Insp. Amor Cerillo, commander of police community precinct 7 where Cruz, Oares and Pereda were assigned, and “John Does” who took part in the operation on Aug. 16.

The criminal charges are apart from the administrative charges the Philippine National Police-Internal Affairs Service has recommended against the policemen for supposed lapses in the operation.
