UP Fighting Maroons Team Captain Paul Desiderio exploded for 28 points to lead the Diliman-based Fighting Maroons to an 84-71 win against the UE Red Warriors.
UP overcame a bad start, going down by as much as 14 points against UE during the 1st quarter.
Down 38-42 after the halftime break, UP then blitzed UE with 26-7 3rd quarter to break the game wide open.
UP goes to 2-1 in the standings while UE is still winless at 0-3.
