Nationwide gun ban starts for 2017 Barangay, SK polls

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (Eagle News) – The Philippine National Police (PNP) announced that the nationwide gun ban has started.

In a phone patch interview, Philippine National Police Spokesman Chief Supt. Dionardo Carlos confirmed that the election gun ban already began on October 1 in connection with the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections.

The total gun ban, which covers the whole country, will last until October 30.

But if the elections will be suspended, PNP will also suspend the gun ban based on the orders of the Commission on Election (COMELEC) regarding the PNP’s deputization.
