Duterte critic Trillanes asked my father to support his 2016 vice presidential bid but was rejected — Sara Duterte

(Eagle News) — Senator Antonio Trillanes IV asked then-Davao Mayor and now President Rodrigo Duterte to support his bid for the vice presidency a year before he ran for the post in the 2016 elections.

This is according to  the President’s daughter, Davao Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, who took to Facebook to challenge the senator who has been hurling accusations ranging from ill-gotten wealth to murder at her father and other family members.

According to Carpio, at that time, her father rejected Trillanes.

A year later, in 2016, Trillanes ran for vice president, and resumed verbally attacking the elder Duterte, who would eventually end up becoming President, Carpio said.

Even then, Carpio said the issues Trillanes threw at her father–and which the senator has been throwing at him up to now—were the same issues he hurled at him since 1995, before the elder Duterte rejected the senator’s bid for the vice presidency.

“Naconfine ka ba ng matagal sa mental? Alam na ng buong mundo ang isyu pero ikaw, hindi mo pa rin alam? You are lying,” Carpio said.

Carpio also challenged Trillanes to prove his allegations and not hide behind “parliamentary immunity,” in reference to what she said was Trillanes’ penchant for hurling the accusations during privilege speeches, contents of which cannot be used in court against him under the law.

Trillanes made his latest accusation of ill-gotten wealth against President Duterte during a privilege speech.

“Tigas ng mukha mo magsabi pamilya ng mamatay (sic) tao at magnanakaw kami pero nagtatago ka sa parliamentary immunity. Pakita mo bay*g mo, huwag mo itago yan sa Senado,” Carpio said.

“Since now we have established lying, prove to everybody that piece of sh** paper of bank accounts you are waving around is not fake, Pinocchio,” she noted.

She also accused Trillanes of “ma(king) VP Binay go away without a fight.”

As for her, she said “ang babae na Bisaya hindi umaatras.”

“Kayang kaya ko makipag-away ng tatlong dekada, laking Mindanao ako. Kung ang Presidente ng Pilipinas ay inaaway ko, ikaw pa ba? Kala mo porket tahimik ako dahil takot ako, kagwang, umiiwas lang ako sa away. Pero may hangganan ang lahat, now is your time to shine…,” she said.

“Don’t ask us to prove you wrong, prove first na hindi ka nagsisinungaling. Fight!” she concluded.
