Freedom of Information (FOI) Bill to be discussed in Plenary by March

MANILA, Philippines- Manolo Quezon, officer of Presidential Communications Development and Strategic Planning, will announce and explain the version of Malacanang’s Freedom of Information Bill to the House Committee on Information.

According to Honorable George Taghap Almonte, Congressman of First District in Misamis Occidental and chairman of the committee, they are planning to discuss the issue at the plenary by March.

In the meantime, Almonte is convinced that if someone violates the FOI Law, that person will be arrested and an administrative case will be filed against him.

Before this, the National Security Council has already announced that whoever violates the FOI Law should be slapped with a heavy case, just to be sure that no one will cause a problem for this can affect the security of the country.
