LPA outside PAR still being monitored
(Eagle News) — Storm signals were lifted as Tropical Depression “Urduja” prepared to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Tuesday.
In its latest advisory, PAGASA said as of 4:00 a.m., the center of the tropical depression was found 240 kilometers west northwest of Puerto Princesa City in Palawan.
“Urduja” is packing maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 60 kilometers per hour, as it moves west southwest at 18 kilometers per hour.
It is expected to leave PAR either this morning or in the afternoon.
“However, sea travel remains risky over the western seaboard of Palawan due to the surge of northeast monsoon,” PAGASA said.
PAGASA said they were monitoring a low pressure area outside PAR, though.
As of 2 a.m., it was located 1,395 kilometers east of Mindanao.
“The public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to continue monitoring for updates regarding this weather disturbance,” PAGASA said.
