Netizen Earla Anne Yehey is seen holding up the “faceless” P100 bills she said she withdrew from a Bank of the Philippine Islands automated teller machine early Sunday, December 25, in this picture posted on her Facebook account.

(Eagle News) –The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas  on Thursday admitted that the “faceless” P100 bills were due to a “printing error.”

“We have resolved the mechanical cause of printing error that led to the faceless notes,” BSP managing director Carlyn Pangilinan said.

According to Pangilinan, the error was “isolated.”

She said 33 misprinted P100 bills were released to the public.

Of the 33, 19 have been recovered.

She said that the “affected machine” has been identified and that “action has been taken.”

“In this particular case, the BSP has identified the mechanical cause of the said erroneous printing. It has since be resolved,” she said.

On December 25, Earla Anne Yehey posted  P100 bills without the face of the late President Manuel Roxas on them.

She said she withdrew the bills from a Bank of the Philippine Islands automated teller machine.
