(Eagle News) — A “harassment suit.”
This was how Senator Antonio Trillanes IV described on Thursday the civil case filed against him by Paolo Duterte and Mans Carpio.
“..Because our corrupt and co-opted justice system have become the refuge of the Duterte scoundrels,” Trillanes said.
“Just be sure that you’d be in power forever because I have made it my life’s mission to make your murderous and corrupt clan accountable for your actions,” he added.
Duterte and Carpio, the son and son-in-law of President Rodrigo Duterte, respectively, were reported as having filed the case against Trillanes in Davao on December 27.
The case was in connection with Trillanes’ statement the younger Duterte and Carpio were members of the so-called Davao Group.
The group is allegedly involved in corruption in the Bureau of Customs.
Both the younger Duterte and Carpio have vehemently denied the allegations.
The filing of the case also comes days after the younger Duterte resigned as vice mayor of Davao.
