(Eagle News)– Davao Mayor Sara Duterte on Friday said her husband and brother did the right thing when they sued Senator Antonio Trillanes.
Duterte said she hopes that the case Mans Carpio and Paolo Duterte filed against the senator for his statement linking them to the so-called Davao Group will prosper.
“I feel na what Trillanes did to them is too much, especially that my husband is a private individual. He is not a public official,” she said.
She said if someone fights you, you should fight back.
“You don’t keep quiet because it was not him who started this. It was not my husband who started this. It was Trillanes,” she said.
Trillanes accused the male Duterte and Carpio of being behind the smuggling of P6.4-bllion shabu shipment into the country as members of the so-called Davao Group.
The group, Trillanes said, was engaged in corruption in the Bureau of Customs.
Both the male Duterte and Carpio have vehemently denied the allegations.
