Pulse Asia: President Duterte still the most trusted gov’t official

(Eagle News)– President Rodrigo Duterte remains the most trusted government official, a recent Pulse Asia survey showed.

Based on the results of the survey done from December 10 to 17, the President was also the official most approved of by the public.

Results showed Duterte got an approval rating of 80 percent, with only 13 percent undecided and 7 percent disapproving of him.

His trust rating was at 82 percent, with 13 percent  undecided, and 6 percent with little or no trust in him.

Duterte’s high approval and trust ratings cut across classes and socioeconomic classes.

In the National Capital Region, his approval rating and trust rating was 79 percent ; in Luzon, 72 and 74 percent, respectively; in the Visayas, both at 86 percent; and in Mindanao, 93 and 94 percent respectively.

Among members of Class ABC, his approval rating was pegged at 77 percent, and his trust rating at  78 percent; among  members of Class D, 79 percent and 80 percent respectively; and among members of Class E, both at 85 percent.

Relevant events include the return of the Philippine National Police to the war on drugs, the declaration of  the Communist Party of the Philippines and the New People’s Army as terrorist organizations, the approval of Congress of President Duterte’s request for an extension of martial law in Mindanao, among others.
