Gadon files criminal complaint vs Sereno for her alleged non-filing of SALN for 17 years

(Eagle News) — A criminal complaint has been filed against Supreme Court Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno for her alleged non-filing of her Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth for 17 years.

Lawyer Larry Gadon filed the complaint for violation of Republic Act 6713 and Republic 3019 before the Department of Justice on Friday.

According to Gadon, Sereno only filed her SALN in 1998, 2002 and 2006, even when she served as a law professor at the University of the Philippines College of Law from 1986 to 2006.

The criminal complaint is separate from the impeachment complaint filed also by Gadon against Sereno.

The House justice panel is currently holding hearings to determine whether there was probable cause for the impeachment complaint.
